The project involved the refurbishment of a Mental Health accommodation ward. The ward was occupied 24 hours a day, seven days a week and remained fully operational throughout the works. The project required detailed programming and very close co-ordination with NHS staff to allow normal day-to-day activities and care to operate with minimal disturbance.

The project was carried out in phases to minimise disruption and allow the client to maintain their required patient levels throughout the project.

Operatives had to be very aware of the environment in which they were working, the special health and safety risks associated with these situations and take a very sensitive and considerate approach.
